Neal Shipley

Chief Executive Officer

For a quarter-century, Neal Shipley has led major capital markets, commercial and community-focused banking teams for leading national banks such as PNC and Huntington Bank. His guidance and problem-solving has helped to capitalize and grow powerhouse companies such as Cooper Tire & Rubber and Penske Truck Leasing and successful medium-sized regional companies such as Respironics and II-VI Incorporated.

As founder of Shipley Brothers Development, developer of Lake Macleod, Pittsburgh’s premier residential development, Neal learned firsthand the funding needs of entrepreneurs and smaller companies. A Carnegie Mellon University alumnus, he started, grew and sold two multimillion-dollar companies.

“I took a 10-year hiatus from banking to start my own businesses. Even as an ‘insider,’ I found that obtaining the capital to grow revenue, create jobs and improve competitive advantage was harder than it should be. Because of regulatory changes that followed the 2008 financial crisis, many middle-market companies cannot access capital through traditional sources. We formed Capital Foundry to address that problem.”

A leader in the Pittsburgh community, Neal is on the boards of directors of Catholic Charities, St. Joseph’s House of Hospitality, and Crossroads Foundation. He is a trustee of the Debbie Shipley Family Foundation, a foundation that provide christian camperships to special needs adults. He and his wife have three children.
